Yep. I’m putting it on craigslist in case someone needs a boat anchor.

No clue on the trans, except the tv cable wasn’t it . It was hunting in the upper gears, and sometimes wouldn’t go down into first. Three different shops looked at it and couldn’t reproduce the problem. One even dropped the pan and did a fluid and filter change and said the fluid was clean and it looked like new inside. Then it suddenly stopped shifting out of first and the fluid smelled burned.

The car sat for at least a year before i got it and the guy was vague on why, so it may already have been acting up then, or something may have gone bad from sitting.

The wagon is intended to be a low-buck project so I'm having fun being inventive about fixes and upgrades.

I had an AOD in my ‘88 wagon that refused to shift out of first until it warmed up, then it would slip like crazy when it did. Lucas transmission fix miraculously healed it (it was at least livable anyway) until it just altogether quit at a stoplight in the middle of the night miles from home.

AODs have many different failure modes.
